Ok this is a newb question. On the last round of betting the small blind bets 15 and the last bet was 8. I thought you had to double the bet if you raise so shouldn’t that be 16? so you start fresh each round? Sorry im learning! lol

you can check until someone bets. However, if someone DOES bet, you have to call or raise to stay in the pot, you cannot check. This is because you have to match whatever bet has been made. For example, if you are first to bet, and you check, and the next player bets, you will have to call that bet if you want to stay in the hand.

this is a more complicated situation. When this happens, there will be a side pot for the people who still have chips to bet in the second round. The person who is all in can only win the chips that were in the pot in the first round of betting. The people who can still bet can win the chips in the new pot (after first round), but can also win the chips in the old pot as well.

you check after the flop if your first to act or else everbody before you also checks. and if your in big blind you can check preflop
